If love is the most powerful emotion known to man, then does that make heartbreak even more powerful?
Love can make you feel the highest of highs and heartbreak, the lowest of lows. And exactly like love, heartbreak permeates every area of our lives and feels like it will last forever.
But thankfully, it doesn’t.
With time, the pain does fade away.
Time is a good thing; all the best things come with time. So embrace it. Learn from your mistakes, heal, and raise your vibration. Become better for the next go-round and watch something better come out of it.
Words are vessels that carry energy. They can raise your vibration or lower it. Use them wisely
1. Never Say Die
One thing that commonly happens after a breakup is that your mind begins to play all of your imperfections on repeat, and if you aren’t careful, it will continue to play them long afterward.
So how do you replace that bad song playing in your head?
Simple, you change the lyrics to the song by reciting affirmations aloud. It may sound cliche, but positive affirmations actually work.
According to PositivePsychology.com, positive affirmations have been demonstrated to lower feelings of stress due to rumination (excessive and intrusive thoughts about negative experiences and emotions).
Repeating affirmations to yourself aloud on a regular basis can give you a more positive and hopeful narrative about what’s going on in your life, who you are, and what you can accomplish.
This is so important after experiencing a breakup because your outlook on things can become bleak. The emotions caused by the separation can spill over into other areas of your life.
Not sure what affirmations to recite? No worries, here are few self-love examples you can try.
9 Affirmations to heal from a breakup
- I love myself unconditionally.
- I accept myself fully.
- I am enough.
- I am still beautiful.
- I am still sexy.
- I am still desired and desirable.
- I will love again.
- I am worthy of love.
- I am worthy.
It’s perfectly normal if you feel resistance while reciting the affirmations in an “I AM” format. This is because your ego or conscious mind is pushing back. This happens when what you say doesn’t align with how you feel or what your subconscious believes to be true.
An easy way to bypass the ego is to rephrase the affirmation into question form. Such as, “why am I so loveable?”
This works because our minds can’t resist answering questions. Even if it doesn’t know the answer, your mind will go to work finding an answer, or it’ll make one up!
Below are examples of affirmations in question form.
7 Positive Questions to heal from a breakup
- Why am I so beautiful?
- Why am I so desirable?”
- Why am I so loveable?
- Why am I so adorable?
- Why am I so happy?
- Why am I so content?
- Why am I so special?
A breakup may feel like the end of something good, but it can be the beginning of something much better if you make it so.
2. Let’s Do this the Write Way
Sometimes, things can get heated amid a breakup, and you may not get to say exactly how you feel.
Mentally, this is not a good place to be because it keeps you looking backward instead of forward and robs you of the present moment.
Unfortunately, there’s no way to go back in time and say everything you didn’t get to say. But, journaling is another way to express your feelings.
It works because it releases pent-up emotions from your heart and mind and transfers that energy onto the pages. Yes, you can express sorrow, remorse, regret, anger, and fear with no judgment and no interruptions.
And the best part about that is you can say exactly what you want to say, exactly how you want to say it, and with no regrets.
That’s the beauty of journaling; it’s your world do what you want to do 🙂
Get your energy flowing in the right direction. Up.
3. Keep your head to the sky
After the smoke clears, it’s natural to retreat into a dark bedroom to be alone with your feelings. This is to be expected, and you should take as much time as you need.
But at some point, you’ll have to make your way back into the light. …Literally.
When you’re ready, go outside and get some Sunshine. Feel some Green grass. Breathe some fresh air. Look at the blue sky. Hear some birds singing.
Why? Because being in nature makes you feel good. You’ll begin to feel whole, and things start to become clear. Nature gives you the proper perspective on life because it’s real.
So put yourself in a position to receive, and watch the Universe interact with you and help you move forward.
Much the way the Creator revives the leaves on the trees in Spring, so will your heart be restored when you connect with Nature.
It’s a beautiful thing.
You are not your feelings; you are the one who feels them.
The crazy thing about love is that you don’t mind being held hostage by it when things are good. But on the flip side, all you want to do is escape when things are bad.
Those light and zingy love feelings have been replaced with heavy and low vibrations like pride, embarrassment, anger, and sadness.
And since emotions are felt in the body, this emotional mix can literally weigh on your mind and make it hard to focus on, well, anything.
So, How do you sift through these emotions and get back to a place of peace and tranquility?
It’s through meditation
Meditation allows you to separate yourself from your thoughts and emotions (ego) and connect to the real you.
You are not your thoughts and feelings; you are the one who hears and feels them.
From an observer’s standpoint, you can go within and sort through your turbulent feelings. And As long as you’re willing to face whatever it is you’re feeling and be honest with yourself, you can resolve pretty much anything.
At your core, the real you is always calm, cool, and collected. Regularly Going into a meditative state allows you to get more familiar with that part of yourself. And in doing so, you produce more self-love, self-confidence and you lower anxiety.
Most people don’t meditate because they think it’s too hard and tedious. They envision themselves sitting perfectly still in the full lotus position for hours. And when that doesn’t happen, they quit. But what many people don’t realize is that there is a meditation method for every personality type. You just have to find what works for you. If you’re a beginner to meditation or just want to try something new, I recommend..(enter book name as link and youtube guided meditation video)
Whichever technique you choose, the end result is always the same, peace.

6. Pump up the Volume
Music is such an effective conduit for shifting energy. For example, can you think of a time when you were riding in your car after a long day of work?
For the Love of God, all you wanted to do was get home and relax, but traffic was moving so slow. Then your favorite song came on the radio, and suddenly you were feeling great! And traffic wasn’t so bad after all.
Music has that power over us it can literally change our moods in a matter of seconds. So why not take advantage of this power to heal yourself after a break-up?
But take heed, All music IS NOT created equally. You may want to stay away from slower music because it tends to have a lower vibrational frequency which will probably only reinforce sad feelings.
To make sure you get the most out of this pick-me-up, you’ll want high vibrational music. You’ll know it’s high vibrational because it will be upbeat and fun! The lyrics will be uplifting and empowering and the musicians will most likely be playing real instruments.
Real music is divine.
The self creates nothing alone
7. Let People In
There’s no shame in letting people help you through a difficult time, so don’t be afraid to open up and let people in. Talk to a trusted friend, someone with who you can be honest and who listens compassionately.
If you don’t feel comfortable doing that, then know it’s ok to seek professional help from a counselor or licensed therapist.
It doesn’t mean anything is wrong with you; it just means you need someone to lean on. This is something we all need from time to tiiBecause at times, we all need help untangling the thoughts in our heads.
“If You’re Brave Enough to Say Goodbye, Life Will Reward You with a New Hello.”
Ending a relationship is never easy, no matter how it ends. While it may be painful, now take comfort in knowing that life moves in cycles and that means when one person leaves, sooner or later another will take their place. It’s the universal law of rhythm.
During this time of temporary solitude, cultivate gratitude, take time to heal, grow, and become better. And in doing so, you ensure that whoever you attract will be worthy of your love because you will have become everything you desire in another person.
